Ogham Stone Solid Cologne - by Murphy and McNeil
Ogham Stone Solid Cologne - by Murphy and McNeil
Description:
Ogham ('oh-am') represents the earliest form of writing in Ireland. Made up of a series of lines or "strokes" creating an alphabet, they can be found on ancient wood and primitive written texts. Most famously however, Ogham can be found throughout Ireland carved into monolithic stones. These stones, often standing sentry in commemoration of a loved one or as a territorial marker, are a fascinating piece of ancient history. Many like to believe that Ogham is connected to Druidic practice, and that it is a "language of the trees" or perhaps even part of runic divination. While there is little proof that Ogham is connected to these mystic arts, it can be difficult to argue that these stones don't have a certain magic about them.
The fragrance of our Ogham Stone collection is meant to evoke the aura of wet stone and earth on the rainy countryside. While familiar, this is a mysterious scent that also seeks to find the magic of Ogham that we want to believe.
